When we first moved to Northern Virginia, I knew Historical Alexandria was a place we needed to check out. We had been told by tons of people how cute it is and how much we'd love it, so Cason and I made our way out there together. Of course, we loved it. It's a little far from where we live, but that won't stop me from having sessions out there!
Cason and I met C & J for a Historical Alexandria couples shoot bright and early. It was one of those weird days where you don't think it's going to be hot, because the weather app gives you a 50 degree range, but the sun actually makes it really warm. It turned out to be really nice and perfect weather, although J might disagree in the jeans and long sleeve shirt he was wearing. They brought their adorable pup Sofie with them, who I'm obsessed with (follow her on Insta), and we set off through Alexandria to find the cutest spots for photos.
We started by the waterfront, where a really cool art installation had just been put in. We moved along the river and into the neighborhood for more of a classic Alexandria feel. Since C and I actually worked together back in Cleveland, we spent the time between locations catching up and learning more about each others lives. C & J told us about how they were thinking of moving to Colorado, we said we were jealous because we love it there. It was great to catch up and be able to give them their first experience with a photographer! We ended with brunch, and I got a burger that had pancakes as the buns, and it was excellent.
Oh, and they did end up moving to Denver. And we’re still jealous.
